No Social Media

Posted: March 23, 2011 in PRCA 3330

I don’t know what I would do without Social Media. In fact last weekend my friend and I tried to go a week without getting on facebook. We both lasted a few days but I know it was hard for me not to just get on to see what people were saying. I don’t think I can even remember what it was like before social media became so prominent. If social media was to not be in existence anymore I don’t know what most people or companies would do. Social media is one of the easiest ways to reach a mass audience all at once. Businesses would need to go back to the old ways of marketing such as television and billboards, at least until something new and improved was introduced.

Haha…I really don’t think I would last giving up Facebook. I thought about giving it up for Lent…that lasted about 3.5 seconds until I respectfully declined. It’s just too important to me!

  2. I feel you on wanting to check back to see what people say. Almost seems as if it’s more fun to go without FaBo for 2 days, then see all the notifications stack up! But seriously, the whole concept of not knowing what may have been said on your wall, and whatnot is what keeps the Facebook train going. It truly has become hard to go without.

I agree I cant remember what it was like without social media before now. I think that going back it would be much harder on us because our generation is all about social media.

I’ve never attempted to stop using Facebook, but I bet I wouldn’t last very long!
